In 2023, ANZRP invested in the Resin8® joint venture with CRDC Circular Solutions to address a longstanding challenge in e-waste recycling and in recognition that 25% of televisions and computer equipment was comprised of plastics, for which there were very limited on shore circular economy solutions.
Following a structured market process, ANZRP has completed a transaction resulting in Sustainable Concrete Group Transmutation (SCGT) acquiring a majority interest in the business. ANZRP remains as a key investor in Resin8® and the entity trading as RESIN8 Circular retains its focus on improving the circularity of plastics.
SCGT is Australia’s leader in circular construction materials, combining patented materials science with construction expertise to decarbonise the construction sector at scale.
The joint venture enables plastics recovered through responsible recycling systems to be mineralised and permanently locked into infrastructure, creating verified circular outcomes and strengthening Australia’s plastics recycling sector.
The capacity and capability provided by this venture will play a valuable role in Australia’s growing e-stewardship and soft plastics recycling schemes.
Resin8®
Turning hard-to-recycle plastics into permanent infrastructure
Resin8® transforms hard-to-recycle plastics into a construction aggregate used in concrete and civil infrastructure projects. Developed to address plastic waste streams with no viable recycling pathway, Resin8® provides a commercially scalable solution that diverts plastics from landfill while reducing embodied carbon in the built environment.

Why Resin8® matters and how it works
Australia generates millions of tonnes of plastic waste each year, yet only a small proportion is recycled locally. Mixed, contaminated and soft plastics in particular lack viable endmarkets.
Resin8® was developed specifically to address these plastics by recycling them into a construction aggregate that behaves like stone. The aggregate is used in an innovative line of recycled-content building materials that enrich concrete and asphalt for sustainable construction — and can be productively recycled into new concrete and asphalt at end of life.
Resin8® uses a patented mechanical process to encapsulate mixed plastic waste (resin types 1–7) within a mineral matrix, creating an aggregate that can directly replace quarried materials in concrete and asphalt applications, so it doesn’t behave like plastic anymore. No leaching. No microplastics. And recyclable.
Key Resin8® features include:
- It can replace between 2 – 20 percent of aggregate in structural concrete and up to 50 percent in non-structural applications, reducing the weight and lowering the carbon footprint of concrete products
- It improves thermal and acoustic insulation, and flexibility/ lifespan of asphalt, while maintaining fire resistance and structural integrity
- Is three times lighter than traditional aggregate and diverts 800 kilograms of soft plastic waste per tonne of aggregate
Environmental and circular economy benefits
Resin8® delivers measurable environmental outcomes aligned with government policy and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting requirements:
Landfill diversion
Processed plastic is permanently diverted into value-add products suitable for infrastructure applications
Recycled content
Supports compliance with recycled content mandates, including many states and Commonwealth procurement requirements
Verified outcomes
Third-party verified reporting and certificates suitable for ESG, Scope 3 and sustainability disclosures.
Every tonne diverted through Resin8® comes with a third-party-verified certificate proving your plastic was recycled into permanent building materials – not exported, not stockpiled, or sent to landfill.
