Building capability and accelerating product stewardship across Australia
ANZRP is proud to partner with the Product Stewardship Centre of Excellence (PSCoE), a national organisation dedicated to accelerating the uptake of product stewardship and circular economy practices across Australia.
The Centre was established in 2020 by a consortium comprising the UTS Institute for Sustainable Futures, the Australian Industry Group and communications specialists Dentsu Creative, with seed funding from the federal government. The Centre is now solely funded by organisational partners and advisory fees.
Product stewardship recognises that producers, manufacturers, importers, retailers and consumers all have a role to play in reducing the environmental and social impacts of products throughout their lifecycle. The Centre works to turn this principle into action by providing education, training, research, guidance and industry engagement programs that help organisations design out waste, improve resource recovery and support a more circular economy.
Driving practical stewardship outcomes
The Product Stewardship Centre of Excellence supports businesses, governments and stewardship organisations through:
- Professional training and e-learning programs
- Industry workshops, webinars and mentoring
- Development of stewardship guidance, tools and resources
- Research and policy leadership on emerging stewardship issues
- Promotion of best practice through industry collaborations and awards programs; and
- Advocacy for stronger product stewardship and circular economy outcomes.
Creating impact
Since its establishment, the Centre has become a leading voice in Australia’s product stewardship landscape, helping organisations better understand and implement stewardship obligations while fostering collaboration across supply chains. Through its training programs, research publications, industry events and policy contributions, the Centre is helping to build the capability needed to transition products and materials towards more circular outcomes.
For ANZRP, the partnership provides valuable opportunities to share knowledge, contribute to industry development and support the advancement of effective stewardship solutions for products ranging from electronics and batteries to emerging priority materials. Together, ANZRP and the Product Stewardship Centre of Excellence are helping drive innovation, improve resource recovery and strengthen Australia’s transition to a circular economy.
