Delivering E-stewardship and E-waste solutions in Australia

ANZRP is an e- product stewardship organisation that was founded by some of the world’s largest technology manufacturers and brand owners when the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS) was formed in 2011. ANZRP’s focus is to provide the best service to the public on behalf of its members, with full transparency and the highest standards in compliance and governance. We do much of this through the delivery and operation of the TechCollect program.

TechCollect is an outward facing program managed by ANZRP which provides householders and small businesses with drop off locations and services across Australia where the public can drop off unwanted e-waste for recycling at no charge. This includes services provided by ANZRP in partnership with Officeworks (Electronic Recycling: Everything You Need to Know | | NOTEWORTHY at Officeworks)

What TechCollect accepts

E-waste (or electronic waste) is often defined as any item with a plug, battery or power cord that is no longer working or wanted. It covers a whole range of items from mobile phones, computers, televisions, kitchen and home appliances, power tools, white goods, and even batteries themselves – though it is vastly broader than these categories.

Under the NTCRS only the following products CAN be dropped off for free recycling at a TechCollect service location;

✅  Personal and laptop computers

✅  Tablets, notebooks and palmtops

✅  Computer monitors and parts (e.g. internal hard drives and CD drives)

✅  Computer peripherals and accessories (e.g. mice, keyboards, web cameras, USBs and cables)

✅  Printers, faxes, scanners and multi-functional devices

✅  Televisions

Drop off locations

TechCollect operates the largest collection program under the NTCRS, covering all states and territories and numerous remote locations. Many of these services are provided in collaboration with local councils at waste and resource recovery centres as well as through specially organised drop-off days and events, along with most Officeworks retail stores.
