Bridging the Digital Divide—One Laptop at a Time

ANZRP is committed to advancing Australia’s circular economy. While our core operations under the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme (NTCRS) focus on responsible recovery and recycling of end-of-life electronics, ANZRP also seeks opportunities to extend product life through meaningful reuse.

One such opportunity is through The Laptop Initiative—a volunteer-led charity founded in 2024. This initiative redistributes working laptops to those who need them most:

  • refugees and asylum seekers,
  • disadvantaged youth, and
  • women escaping domestic violence.

By supporting The Laptop Initiative, the community can help address two critical challenges:

  1. Reducing e-waste by repurposing laptops that still have value.
  2. Closing the digital divide by enabling access to education, employment, and vital connections.

Through its Corporate Heroes program, The Laptop Initiative invites businesses to donate functioning laptops. These are then responsibly managed and distributed via registered charity partners.
